BEFORE: The slave gallery was part of the original construction of the church in 1821. In the early 1900’s, the gallery was closed off from the main church to conserve heat. The original entry doors in weathered condition. |

DURING: Replastered the ceiling & hid the utilities. Wall cut open. We made railings, newels & pickets in shop. Whitewashed rough wood to reduce “dark-hole” effect. Cross made from original rough wood. Old plaster = 1.5 tons. |

AFTER: The completed gallery restoration. Large hanging lights made from ceiling fixtures from under gallery. Doors restored & 1863 rim lock restored. Brass knobs found in salvage depot. |
